CHARLES R. ("CHARLIE") NEWMAN 1940-2018
On Sunday, January 14th, 2018 we lost our good friend, teacher, technition and employee, Charlie Newman. Charlie passed suddenly leaving us and his many students and friends in shock.
Charlie spent his early life as a performing professional musician and studio player and began working here in 1995. Charlie taught guitar, banjo, ukulele, steel guitar and bass guitar. Also, Charlie helped in the store as well, and did our string instrument repairs.
Everyone will remember him for his quick wit and friendly personality and his obvious love of music. He would often spend much of his free time explaining a musical concept to a customer or student inspiring them to further pursue playing a musical instrument.
Needless to say, he touched the many lives of students and customers alike at Fretz Music Center and his passing leaves us all with a hole in our hearts.
